Lindsay Manufacturing, Inc., is one of the leading manufacturers of central vacuum systems worldwide and also a supplier of central vacuum parts and accessories. The company has a network of dealers that spans the United States and more than 20 other countries. The company was originally formed in 1956 as Thermodynamics, Inc., a manufacturer of heat exchangers. In 1960 the company became VacuMaid, Inc. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s VacuMaid obtained several patents and helped to improve the central vacuum industry. During this time products were sold under the trade names VacuMaid and Astro Vac.

VacuMaid is based in Ponca City, Oklahoma and in 1987, change its name to Lindsay Manufacturing, Inc., to reflect its role as a manufacturer. Today, Lindsay Manufacturing makes a wide range of products under the trade names AstroVac, VacuMaid, SilentPartner, VacZoom, Dust Mate, SuperGroom, AudioTech, and Valet.

VacuMaid central vacuum power units use cyclonic action to offer superior cleaning power and have the most sustainable cleaning power in the industry allowing virtually 100% cleaning power at all times. The vacuums use a dirt canister rather than bags to collect dirt, and their cyclonic technology keeps the vacuum from losing suction power as the canister fills with debris.
