The Electrolux Group is a Swedish company and the 2nd largest home appliance manufacture in the world. Their products sell under a variety of brand names, including Electrolux. Since the early 1900s, the company has provided many useful home appliances, including vacuum cleaners. In fact the company's founder, Axel Wenner-Gren, commissioned the creation of the world's first household vacuum cleaner, the Lux 1, in 1912.
The company formed in 1918 under a cooperative agreement between sales company Svenska Elektron AB and Lux AB, creating Electrolux. This brand grew rapidly through mergers and acquisitions to become a world-class appliance manufacturer. Currently, the Electrolux corporation operates its North American headquarters out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The most popular Electrolux vacuum cleaner is the EL5010A Aptitude Bagged Upright with a washable HEPA H12 filter. This model includes and electronic indicator to tell the user when to wash the filter. Their second most popular machine is the Electrolux Intensity. The Intensity folds so compactly that it is easily stored anywhere in the home. This machine is perfect for homes with limited storage space but requires a compact cleaner with a lot of power. This machine is also much quieter that most of its competitors in a similar price range, which has aided in its success.
