Rexair LLC is a manufacturer of home cleaning systems and vacuum cleaners based in Michigan. The company was founded in 1929 by John W. Newcombe, who marketed a bagless vacuum cleaner. In 1936, the company introduced a cleaning system with a water filtration that would become the focus of Rexair's marketing and manufacturing. In 1955, the Rainbow series of home cleaning systems was introduced with this same technology and became the company's flagship product.

In 1959 the company was purchased by Sanders, who restructured the company to focus on direct marketing with independent distributors, a system he called "The Rainbow Opportunity." Over the course of their 80 year history, Rexair has manufactured ten models of the Rainbow vacuum cleaners.

Most Rexair vacuum cleaners have a dirt bag included for storing gathered dust to be thrown away. Rexair vacuums, however, are unique in that they don't require bags because the user can add water to the reservoir system where the dust bag is stored and debris will be collected in the water chamber. The dirt is fully taken in by the water molecules and not thrown back into the air, just as efficiently as storing in the dust bag.
